Must-Do

Mur Island & Mur Promenade

If you want to experience Graz in summer in an active yet relaxed way, the best place to start is at the Murinsel and stroll along the Murpromenade.

The futuristic steel and glass island in the middle of the river combines design, nature and city life – a real eye-catcher and the ideal starting point for a walk along the water. From here, the promenade leads past cafés, shady seating areas and tranquil green spaces, constantly opening up new perspectives of the old town, the Schlossberg and the urban lifestyle of Graz.

Summer highlight: there is also an atmospheric open-air cinema on the Murinsel – the perfect location for movie nights in the open air right by the water.

Whether it’s a leisurely evening stroll, iced coffee by the water or a movie night in the summer sky – this combination of modern architecture and relaxed strolling makes the spot a must-do.
